ABOUT THE ROLE

Salary: £72,800 (plus London weighting where appropriate)
Location: Hybrid, with 2-3 days a week in our London office, or in another L'Arche location. (If your base is outside London, you can expect to spend 2-3 days a month in the London office). The role includes regular travel to L'Arche Communities UK-wide, and to national meetings.

- Manage the HR team, Learning and Development team, and national HR and L&D budgets.
- Oversee the accuracy and relevance of admin and data systems.

About the position
This is an exciting opportunity to create change at scale, informing and promoting a practical transition to plant-based diets, in order to reduce the number of animals suffering in factory farms. Part of our Farmed Animal Campaigns team, the role will work to increase the quality and availability of plant-based options with major caterers and universities in the UK, impacting hundreds of thousands of meals daily.
This role also includes an opportunity to support the delivery of a campaign to end the use of farrowing crates, one of the worst forms of cruelty to farmed animals in the UK today. About the organisation
nia has been delivering services to women, girls and children who have been subjected to sexual and domestic violence and abuse, including prostitution, since 1975. The organisation has three main aims: to provide services for women, girls and children who have experienced men’s violence; contributing to ending male violence against women and girls, and to inform and influence policy and public awareness.
The Play Therapy Service provides a free, confidential therapeutic service for children and young people who have experienced or witnessed domestic and/or sexual violence. It is designed to help them have the space to express themselves, think things through and work towards healing from trauma. Children/young people receive the service usually once a week, in one of nia’s satellite locations in East London.
About the post
In the role of Play Therapist, you will play a central role in running a play therapy service for children and young people affected by violence against women, including the children of mothers who have experienced domestic violence, sexual violence and prostitution, as well as problematic substance use. The work focusses on working therapeutically with children and their parent/carers and networks to enable their healing process. You will work as part of a growing team of therapists and counsellors, all working to meet the needs of survivors.

service, and are developing Dyadic Developmental Psychotherapy (DDP) approaches in our work and
have specialist expertise in neuro-diversity and children with special education needs. The well
established team has a strong track record in therapeutic interventions, including music therapy and
narrative therapy based multi-family groups for younger children who are adopted or with a Special
Guardianship Order. We are developing partnerships with universities - Newcastle University and
The Institute of Contemporary Music and Performance and are piloting research based creative
therapy interventions. We work within very diverse communities and we consciously challenge

About the role
We are seeking a qualified Clinical Psychologist to provide therapeutic multi-disciplinary assessments
and interventions in our work with adopted and Special Guardianship Order (SGO) families. This
work involves trauma informed approaches, using DDP, narrative, family and life story work. The
team is led by a Clinical Psychologist who will provide supervision for this role. The team provides
creative, relational, and evidence based approaches collaborating with wider networks and reaching
schools and communities to inform child centred and trauma informed practice. The post offers a
unique opportunity to work alongside skilled creative and family therapists. We seek to empower
children and families using strengths based narratives, as well as accepting vulnerability and seeking
opportunity for connection, strengthening resilience and support.
The successful candidate will be a clinical psychologist that is skilled and experienced in working with
developmental trauma, and child and family work and operate with initiative and responsiveness in
a dynamic professional environment. A background in CAMHS and/or a social care services would
be desirable. Experience of running multi-family groups would be an advantage. They will be a
supportive professional, a team player and enjoy working in a diverse, respectful and challenging

Sands exists to save babies’ lives and ensure that anyone affected by pregnancy loss or baby death receives the support and care they need.
This role plays a pivotal part in planning and delivering marketing and communications activities to key audiences, such as supporters, volunteers, journalists, ambassadors and staff. Integrated marketing campaigns are integral to Sands’ growth and are key to driving brand awareness, reach, engagement, income growth and social change.
The duties of the role include writing, editing, co-ordinating and publishing content across various channels, including Sands’ website, social media, email, and print and online marketing materials. You will need to work closely with other internal teams to plan and implement communications and marketing campaigns to drive awareness or income, while progressively improving organisational understanding of what works for different audiences.
You will also support the Marketing & Campaigns Manager in the delivery of our major integrated campaigns and appeals, and work closely with other members of the Engagement team to support all communications aims and outcomes.
An excellent communicator and team player, you will have a sound knowledge and experience of social media, including Facebook, Twitter, Instagram and related platforms. With paid online marketing experience (e.g. in PPC or Social Media), comfortable using digital tools (e.g. Google Analytics) and be able to write engaging copy with good editorial skills.
This role will specialise in leading marketing and communications support of the Research, Education and Policy department, which covers a range of work including our work to save babies’ lives, training and education, and influencing policy through campaigning and advocacy.

But there’s a lot more to the Ramblers. Since 1935, we’ve been fighting for the public’s right to enjoy Britain’s landscapes. We do it through campaigning for changes in legislation, opening up green routes in cities, maintaining paths and signposts, saving lost paths … and so much more.
Purpose of Role
The Community Engagement Manager is a pivotal new role in the delivery of our refreshed strategy. Too many of the people who would benefit most from walking outdoors face significant barriers – they are under-represented in the Ramblers and the outdoors community. Ramblers has several projects at different stages of development and delivery to begin to address this, but we are aware there is a considerable body of theory and practice in public and charity sectors on outreach to excluded communities that could help us achieve our goals.
We are looking for a professional with considerable experience in this area who can help us create a common approach to our outreach and engagement work that builds on our existing experience and incorporates wider best practice.
The role
- To bring into the Ramblers expertise and best practice on approaches to community outreach and engagement from across the voluntary and public sectors.
- To establish and deepen relationships with excluded communities, particularly lower IMD communities in existing and future pilot areas.
- To support and advise project leaders within the Ramblers across GB who are engaging a range of excluded groups and audiences including refugees and asylum seekers, global majority communities, lower IMD communities, LGBTQI communities and people who are neurodivergent or have disabilities.
- To collaborate with other project leads working with excluded communities within the Ramblers, to build consensus about a common approach or toolkit and to help develop, document, and implement this approach.
- To help initiate and support partnerships with other national organisations working with excluded groups, including lower IMD communities – particularly those organisations looking to boost physical activity, involvement in the outdoors or the appreciation of nature.
- To support funder relationships by contributing to bid development and reporting, including for Sport England and the National Lottery Community Fund.
- To support efforts to build wider awareness across staff and volunteers at the Ramblers about what successful outreach and engagement with excluded groups looks like.
- To help raise the Ramblers profile as an organisation that is supporting those who face the greatest barriers to getting outdoors.
- To undertake such other duties as may reasonably be required of the postholder by the Ramblers.
The person
Knowledge and Experience
- Good knowledge of the theoretical underpinnings of outreach/engagement with excluded communities.
- Experience of best practice in the delivery of community outreach/engagement, ideally in a variety of settings including lower IMD neighbourhoods.
- Experience of delivering public health, sport and physical activity, or nature-connectedness programmes in partnership with local communities and organisations.
- Experience of working with the voluntary sector, volunteers and ideally membership organisations.
- Experience of assessing and managing risk in relation to physical activities, or a willingness to learn.
Skills and Leadership
- Experience of working with others in a leadership or co-ordination role to develop and implement new ways of working.
- Strong facilitation and training skills.
- Ability to lead group walks in a way that is enjoyable, engaging and safe for all participants.
Qualification [desirable]
- Walk Leadership qualification (e.g. Lowland Leader or Hill and Moorland Leader) – or ability to work towards one.
- Outdoor first aid qualification – or ability to work towards one.
